Ich bin vergnügt
Oboe concerto in G Minor: Largo
ABOUT THE RECORDING
It is impossible to fully grasp the incredible richness of Bach’s compositions even after repeated listening, but despite the contrapuntal branching and details typical of individual sentences, the overall impression of his composition is very clear. That is where the composer’s greatness resides: he does not invent abstract constructions, but creates emotional masterpieces. In the concerts and cantatas on this recording, the idea of musical perfection based on polyphony is realized in a different manner and with different consequences in each composition.

REVIEWS
As we are already used to with Václav Luks, his interpretative concept is emotionally tense, effective, and therefore captivating. Although, in my opinion, Bach’s music doesn’t need it that much, Luks here gives it enormous spontaneity, energy, almost animality, and is 100% convincing in his opinion. It is admirable how much these emotions are conveyed through the music recording and how all the musicians bring them to the surface without being carried away by them themselves. This is also proof of quality.
