Evening in Vienna

Mozart’s Terzetti & Notturni combine the composer’s fascination with the basset horn (tenor clarinet) and his love of household music making. His Terzetti for basset horn trio represent
experimental miniatures in which these wind instruments take the place of strings and reveal the wealth of expressive possibilities they offer. When performing the works, the players themselves choose the number and ordering of movements depending on the immediate social and artistic requirements. The Sei Notturni combine three basset horns with three vocal parts. The six compositions of intimate character are settings of texts on the theme of love.
