George Frideric Handel's Dixit Dominus is one of the most impressive settings of an Old Testament psalm and is characterised by dramatic expressiveness and virtuoso choral singing. This concert will feature the festive Missa Circumcisionis by Jan Dismas Zelenka. Within his impressive body of church music, numbering just over 20 settings of the Mass Ordinary, the Missa Circumcisionis, composed in 1728, is one of his most extensive and richly punctuated works.
