The shooting of the new feature film Il Boemo about the composer Josef Mysliveček finished in Rome before Christmas. The film, directed by Petr Václav and featuring Vojtěch Dyk in the lead role, will appear in cinemas in the autumn of 2021.

Despite various complications and shifts in deadlines, the shooting was completed and the creators made no secret of their ambition to present the film at major international festivals. Opera scenes were filmed at the well-preserved Teatro Sociale in Como, Italy. Music for the film was recorded by the Collegium 1704 and the conductor Václav Luks has served as the film’s professional music advisor. A number of opera stars who regularly cooperate with Collegium 1704 appear in the film, including the Italian soprano Raffaella Milanesi and the Polish tenor Krystian Adam.
