Spanish Virtuosos Travelling through Europe
In Spain of the 18th century, there was no lack of wonderful musicians and famous virtuosos. Many of them had accepted the cosmopolitan ideas of the Enlightenment and decided to travel abroad to find success and new, stimulating experiences. The Enlightenment had a great influence on all aspects of the period’s every day life, such as scientific, economic, political, and social matters. Groups of aristocrats, intellectuals, and artists travelled freely all over Europe under the influence of the strongly humanistic and cosmopolitan character of the era.
