Christmas Oratorio
Christmas Oratorio is a compilation of six cantatas written in Leipzig for worship services held between Christmas Day and Epiphany at the turn of 1734–35. He later grouped the six cantatas into a single volume titled Christmas Oratorio. Although the work does not form a single dramatic arch, it has become one of the most popular compositions of its genre thanks to its joyous music. Collaborating with Collegium 1704 is Gregor Meyer, one of Germany’s most inspirational choirmasters of the younger generation.
