In his cycle Musical Globe, Georg Philipp Telemann masterfully captured the astonishing diversity of musical styles found across Baroque Europe. On the other hand, the Trietto for Strings and the Polish Dances create a colourful palette of moods ranging from dance-like freshness to lyrical expressiveness, blending Telemann’s refined style with the vibrant energy of folk music — a source of inspiration for which he had a lifelong affinity.
